Carol and Lori called me a few mins ago and said that those fees will be billed to my insurance co and we'll go from there.  I've thought about it for quite awhile and decided to go ahead with trying to get a revision to a DS with Dr Husted.   My appt is Dec 4 and I am so excited.  I can't wait.  I was excited before my rny journey began and I'm very excited now.  The reason I am going for a revision is that I've gained 80lbs in the last year and I have tried and tried to get it off.  I have severe acid issues and I just feel that this is where I need to go.  Best of luck to those of u just starting out or like me and starting again.

Thank u, Sandi...I saw u're friend request and approved it a few mins ago. Thanks for wanting to be my friend.  I love my rny, I love my rny surgeon Dr Shina. He is one of the best.  I've just had alot of reflux issues. My life has been one emotional roller coaster this year.  One of my baby brothers had to bury his daughter this year and that has been hard on all of us.  Then there were just alot of other things.  I let myself go back to my old habits, using food as a comfort.  Snacking when nervous or upset. Plus I was on Zoloft for over a year without knowing that it can make u gain weight. I'm not on it now but I'm sure that didn't help.  The DS is the surgery I wanted first but no surgeons in Ky did it back then and my insurance carrier at that time didn't cover it.  Dr Shina's office (Holly) actually recommended calling a DS surgeon to me.  Dr Husted is now in Ky (Somerset) and a Dr Margaret Inman is in Indianapolis.  I wish u the best with u're journey and if u have any DS ?'s I'm sure u could ask on the DS board.  Take care!

It is fairly normal with RNY to have a bounce back 10-15 lbs after reaching your lowest weight. If you ever go to the grads board you will see way too many people who're gaining with RNY though. It puzzles me but I personally know it can be done.

Lisa and Angie:

Will be great to meet you on the 4th! Dr. Husted is the very best at revisions and as a revision specialist understands it's not one size fits all. Weight loss surgery now offers many options...it's no longer just bypass or band. I had gastric bypass in 2002 and wish I had known about the DS then.

The DS was my first choice pre op but my insurance co then didn't cover it and no one in Ky did it.  Back then Dr Husted was in Nashville and out of network with my insurance.  I'm so glad I have Anthem now and he's in with them.  I'm very excited, can't wait to meet ya!
